NERSA successfully partnered with the Information Regulator, Dundee Technical College (DTC), the Department of Correctional Services, and the Department of Social Development to host a Customer Education Workshop.
The workshop aimed to empower consumers/learners with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, and of careers in the energy sector, to promote regulatory awareness, and to strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa, in partnership with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, recently hosted impactful workshops at Rhodes University for students and staff.
 

On 8 April 2026, NERSA hosted an informative workshop in collaboration with the National African Farmers at Indermark Community Hall in the Blouberg District Municipality. The session focused on empowering attendees with a clear understanding of NERSA’s mandate.

On 25 February 2026, NERSA honoured the invitation from the Free State Premier’s Office at Matsikeng Village in the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality to conduct a customer education workshop. Other stakeholders in attendance included the Free State Consumer Protector’s Office, the South African Revenue Service (SARS), and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), among others.

On 19 February 2026, NERSA conducted a customer education and awareness workshop, in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Office of the Consumer Protector in Harmony Park, Klipfontein, Ndlambe Municipality

On 22 October 2025, NERSA conducted a workshop and a roadshow at Tshwane University of Technology in Mbombela. The engagement was in collaboration with FSCA, the Information Regulator and other stakeholders. NERSA focused its presentation on its mandate and career opportunities.

On 17 September 2025, NERSA participated in the Just Energy Transition Conference held at Gordon Institute of Business Sciences,  Illovo
 

On 11 September 2025, NERSA participated at the Financial Sector Conduct Authority exhibition held at UKZN Westville campus. Other stakeholders who participated were IR, CDC, SARS, Consumer Profile Bureau, and Letsatsi Financial Loans

NERSA conducted a workshop in collaboration with the Cape Agulhas Municipality in Bredasdorp Thusong Centre. The workshop was attended by women in SMMES in and around Bredasdorp focusing on NERSA's mandate, regulatory frameworks and business opportunities in the energy space.

On 30 July 2025, NERSA customer education team conducted another workshop with educators at Maruping cluster, Kuruman LM, in collaboration with the NC Department of Education during their Financial Wellness event.
 

NERSA Customer Education team conducted a workshop at Laxey, Joe Morolong Local Municipality in Northern Cape. Other stakeholders present were the Department of Education, SARS, Sanlam, SACE, HAWKS & GEMS.
 

On 28 July 2025, NERSA team in collaboration with the North Cape Department of Education, conducted a workshop with the educators on its mandate and regulatory processes.

NERSA Customer Education team in partnership with the Eastern Cape Consumer Protector conducted a workshop at Louterwater Koukamma local municipality on 18 July 2025. Other stakeholders present were Koukamma Local Municipality, ICASA & CMS.

On 17 July 2025, NERSA Customer Education team conducted a workshop in collaboration with the EC economic development, Environmental Affairs & Tourism and other regulators in Misgund, Koukamma Local Municipality.

On 27 May 2025, NERSA conducted a customer education workshop @Kgakala, Maquassi Hills Municipality, in collaboration with North-West Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism. The workshop aimed to educate consumers on the NERSA mandate and regulatory frameworks and processes.

Day 1 - Public hearings on Eskom’s Sixth Multi-Year Price Determination (MYPD6) revenue application for the 2025/26, 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years taking place from 18 November 2024 - Cape Town

NERSA’s Full-Time Regulator Member for piped-gas regulation, Ms Nomfundo Maseti, participating at the African Energy Week discussing opportunities and challenges for regional collaboration on gas development as well as concern about overregulation in the African energy industry.

NERSA is holding an awareness campaign on the regulatory matters pertaining to storage facilities, access to pipeline infrastructure, third party access, tariffs and funding among others in the petroleum pipelines industry in Pretoria on 25 October 2024.

On 14 October 2024, NERSA conducted workshop at Oukasie Community Hall, Madibeng Local Municipality. The workshop was on NERSA's mandate, consumer rights and responsibilities, and how theft of electricity impacts quality of supply and the importance of paying for electricity.

On 20 August 2024, NERSA conducted a Customer Education workshop at eNgcobo eNtibaneni. Other stakeholders present were Eastern Cape DEDEA, NEF and NCR.

NERSA conducted a workshop in collaboration with NW Depart of Economic Development, Conservation & Tourism & other regulators in Molatedi - 16 Aug. The workshop focused on NERSA's regulatory framework & educating audience on their rights & responsibilities as electricity customers
